Sono ucraino, vengo da una bellissima città che si chiama Lviv e da due anni lavoro all’Università di Milano Bicocca in un gruppo che si occupa di biofisica. In questa ricerca ho lavorato sulle nanoparticelle di oro. Le nanoparticelle se irraggiate con il laser si scaldano e questa loro proprietà può essere sfruttata in molti ambiti della medicina e della biologia. Lo Smart Thermal Treatment abbina la ricerca sulle nanoparticelle alla teconologia della stampa per la realizzazione di cerotti smart in grado di effettuare trattamenti termici su superfici estremamente definite. Allo stesso modo con la Smart Drug Release invece che calore possono essere rilasciati farmaci per terapie estremamente mirate e meno tossiche.

I come from a beautiful city called Lviv, in Ukraine, and I’ve been working for two years at Milan’s Bicocca University, in a group that studies biophysics. In my research I worked on gold nanoparticles. These nanoparticles heat up if they are irradiated with laser, and this property can be exploited in many areas of medicine and biology. The smart thermal treatment combines research on nanoparticles and printing technologies to produce smart patches that can provide thermal treatments on very precisely defined surfaces. Similarly, with what we call smart drug release we can administer drugs rather than heat, for extremely targeted and less toxic treatments.
